Welcome to another Flip It Friday, friends! Believe it or not, we're just 66 days out from the election.
There are a lot of new subscribers this week, mostly from Twitter! So shout out to every single one of you, thank you so much for joining us!
A quick overview of how this works: every Friday morning you'll get this email from me, where I'll highlight one Democratic candidate running against a Republican incumbent. I toggle back and forth between the Senate and the House each week, and I specifically highlight candidates of integrity who have a decent shot at flipping a seat. Below you'll find links to follow the candidate on social media, and ways to help their campaign with your time and dollars. If you donate, please consider using the link below! That way, we can keep track of every dollar we raise as a group!
So let's get to the good stuff!
Week Ten: Mark Kelly, AZ Senate
Mark Kelly is an extraordinary candidate, and perfect to face down one of the Senate's worst Trump-enablers, Martha McSally. Mark Kelly is a retired Captain in the Navy, and a NASA astronaut . He's married to former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, and this is his first time running for public office.
Mark wants to ensure Arizonans have accessible and affordable health care. As a Navy Veteran, his platform puts the spotlight on Veterans issues like homelessness, suicide, and job security. And of course, Mark has a strong focus on prioritizing science, which may be more critical now than ever before as we continue to see science under attack.
Check out this very moving video announcing his candidacy:

If you watched any of the Hatch Act violati— oops, sorry I mean the RNC, you’ll know we have our work cut out for us over the next 66 days. As Mark would say, full speed ahead!
See you next Friday,
Claire
